Parent Council
Session 26/27
Chairperson- Leanne Ward
Secretary - Jodi White
We are looking to breathe new life into our parent council and would love to welcome new members from all primary classes.
What is the Parent Council and What Do They Do?
The Parent Council is a group of parents, grandparents and guardians chosen by the Parent Forum at its Annual General Meeting. They represent all families at Rowantree School and work hand-in-hand with the school to make sure every child has the best possible experience.
One of the biggest things we do is help raise funds for equipment and resources that the school budget can't quite stretch to. Thanks to the amazing support of our Rowantree families, we worked alongside the school to raise £15,342 for Cash for Kids last year! We also work with the school to run our annual Christmas Fayre, a festive favourite for the whole school community.
Through funding from the Make It Happen fund, some of our members have set up a cooking group, running during school time to teach children hands-on skills in the kitchen all whilst having fun.
How Can I Be Involved?
We'd love to encourage more parents to get involved with our Parent Council. It's a great opportunity to have your voice heard, share ideas and help shape the school experience for all our children.
We know how busy family life can be, so we want to reassure you: being part of the Parent Council doesn't have to take up lots of your time beyond our termly meetings. Even a small amount of involvement can make a real difference. Many parents find it a rewarding way to connect with other families, find out what's happening in school, and contribute to positive changes.
If you've ever thought about getting involved, we'd love to welcome you — you may find it more valuable and enjoyable than you expect!
